Sears has just recently changed to CBUSASEARS. I'm not sure of the details, if this is the same company or sellout, but my old Sears on Experian report changed to this. The balance was $772, but now shows $0. But on Transunion (which is still calling it Sears Roebuck & Co.), the debt no longer shows derogatory, but in good standing, as if I had a paid credit line that is now closed. Experian is still showing that it's a charge-off, but balance $0, and this new CBUSAsears must not be reporting to equifax, because it's gone from equifax completely.

My Sears hasn't been re-aged (still shows DLA 9/97) but I have a collection from Federal Pacific for a old Discover Card (1996 charge-off)just pop up recently, with an account opened date of 10-2003, which I am currently fighting as a re-aged debt.

I know Discover used to be Sears, now I'm wondering if this is just a coincidence, or perhaps Sears just released a bunch of it's old records out to some scumbag company that's now decided to try and pull some illegal collection activities?
