I would file a counter-suit NOW ! If ASSet has illegally re-aged this debt, and you have the proof you say you do, you can NAIL them. The counter-suit for FCRA violations may even make them think twice about pursuing an SOL debt if your number is high enough. $1000 for the initial violation of re-aging; $1000 PER MONTH that the inaccurate and illegal entry is being reported, then tack on damages of a few thousand for damage to your credit as a result of their illegal re-aging.

Try posting this over on www.creditboards.com and see what they think as far as $$ numbers are concerned. FDCPA is one thing, up to $1000 MAX, vs. what could be thousands for an FCRA suit !

You should seriously consider a consumer lawyer if you can get one. Scott may have some suggestions for an OH NACA lawyer.
