Filing for BK, or having a BK on your credit reports should NOT have any effect on an existing checking account.

The major impact on in getting credit, it will be tough for a few years post-bankruptcy, but not impossible. You just have to embark on serious credit repair and rebuilding post-discharge.

In TX, one vehicle per licensed driver is EXEMPT in BK.

The judgment most definitely gets included and discharged. Once you have your discharge, you (or your lawyer) files a Motion to Vacate with the court holding the judgment and it goes bye-bye. Its not a LOT of extra work, but may cost a bit extra in legal fees to have the paperwork done and filed.

Retirement accounts, as long as they are ERISA-qualifed, are 100% exempt.
