I do plan on showing up because, like you said, that would be the worst thing to do. Then a default judgement is made against me. I didn't know about the appearance fee. How much is it usually and do I have to pay it the same day I show up in court? Right now they are trying to collect approx. $6500 plus interest and court fees. As far as proof, all they have submitted to me are copies of my past billing statements and card holder agreement. With the summons and complaint they did attach a copy of a notorized affidavit from some employee of CITIBANK stating all the information on my statements is true and correct (balance, being deliquent, etc.). I had previously sent the OC a Billing Error dispute letter. Then when I got a letter from the attorney's I sent them a validation and verification of the debt request. They in turn mailed me a copy of all my past billing statements as I mentioned before. When I go to court and ask for an extension or continuance, how long does the judge usually give or can I request a certain amount of time?
