First they pull credit reports - that's the easy part. Then they have access to many databases for public records, DMV, insurance, etc. That's where they see most of it - they can see mortgages and car loans, deeds etc. Its really not the big deal they want you to think it is. For $40 and armed with a SSN, I can get TONS of info on anyone myself !
