Thank you Why Chat & LadynRed for the information - that form letter is great. Yes, the loans in Q are private - thankfully I already have my federal loans. The state where I had GTE was Texas. I did some research last night and figured out that in June 2000, GTE sold their wireless arm to SBC. Several months later, SBC & BellSouth jointly launched Cincular. So...it was in the midst of this huge acquisition and merger that my scrawny little payment dissappeared. I also found on the net that plenty of people paid off their GTE wireless bill and closed their accounts but had to fight continuous charges, even getting the FTC involved. Thanks again!!!!
