Do the laws apply to where I am living NOW? Or where the debt is? I just recieved a letter stating that they were attempting to collect on this debt. They didn't include who I actually owed. Although some form of the name was in the "acct number". So, I knew who it was. Yeah, it was interesting that they contacted me the same month that that judgement fell off and I actually have a decent credit rating now. The debt is for a "but here pay here" car deal that went bad. The car broke down the first month I had it and they came and took it. All along the old guy running the place said that I didn't owe anything further and they didnt report to credit agency's. I never saw it on a credit report. EVER
You think they were just waiting for that day when that judgement fell off? It isn't for this debt, but another debt that I did pay off.
