Yea they are using a law firm which is just around the corner from my job. I delivered my appearance/answer to them personally just to check it out. Obviously a summons mill - stacks and stacks of them at the reception desk, waiting to be sent. I have to call the court tomorrow just to be sure something didn't get screwed up and they didn't try to get a judgment on the "return" date of the summons and they actually abide by the hearing date. I've been reading so many horror stories on these boards I don't trust anyone anymore. I am actually looking forward to the court hearing. I took the day off work just for the hell of it. By the way - I also work for a law firm. Unfortunately I work for a much smaller one than the one I spent 20 years at which had over 300 lawyers (they closed last summer, very suddenly, very unexpectedly), there was always someone to turn to. I did run all this past 1 of our attys where I'm at now and she told me "this will go away", she was the one who notarized my answer, told me it looks good. I don't want anyone else there knowing my personal business cuz I've only been there 7 months - not like being somewhere 20 years where I knew everyone. I also called a firm I found on the other board and he's the one who told me to ask for dismissal. I am going to call him back after the hearing to go after them for all their violations. Thanks to all of you for all of your support. I go by the name smellycat on the other board, I didn't know you could use the same name and that people go on both. I've also been reading up on "theartofcredit.com" which is a pretty good site.
