well, im also in texas. whether you should worry or not is up to you. personally, for several reasons i hate my situation. one, i will need good credit for apartments..or a car. two, things stay on CRs for 7 years..BKs 10..judgements either 7 or 10, and i dont know what the future will hold. one never knows what one may need. since i am 51, its not like im young and will def need credit. but i hate how it makes me look to others. i dont know how my life may change or what i will need in years to come. once this stuff is on a CR..its next to impossible to get off. the calls will drive me completely crazy. somedays its fun to mess with them and see how they break the law. but they are doin their jobs, same as the rest of us. morally, i feel terribly bad we couldnt pay what we got. no one forced me to get the cards, and i feel responsible for not paying. i do not like living my life wondering if today is the day they freeze my account. or if i will sued. or have to show in court. i just dont like hassles, i have enough of them in my life as it is. whether this bothers you or not is your business. lol..thats how you choose to live and thats fine. for you. :)..but someone in your family may die..God forbid, and leave you insurance. you may want or need to sell your house. your car may blow up and you will need a new one. many ways they can get us. if that works for you, then im glad for you that it does. :) you didnt state your general age, and i think maybe age has a factor in it also, for me, it does. younger people realllly need to have good credit and can affected worse than someone my age.
