Well, Tazi's advise concerning negotiations is quite sound. They will work with an attorney before they'll work directly with you. It really depends on the CA and whether they actually have any documentation at all.

Your chances of getting your bank account frozen are pretty much 100% if they get a default. *IF*, however, you go to court, their chances are nil if you ask the court for installment payments at a rate you can afford. The court won't refuse you installment payments unless you suggest something ridiculous, like $1 a month. (Let's not go there.) And if you agree to pay it within a specified period of time (like three months) and stick to it, the judge may even withhold judgment.

But make sure you don't ever miss a payment, if you decide to go that route.
