is there a spouse? a will? they can only petition a court against the estate to be paid when the will is probated. dunno if there is a spouse. my mom wasnt married and i didnt probate her will. i kept her insurance and simply told each company she died . no one but one asked about a estate. i told them there was none. shrug* just my experience..dont worry about it.
