It makes no sense is right.
The mortgage company is guilty of a serious violation of the discharge and your sister needs to slap them upside the head with a baseball bat.

She needs to send them a cease and desist letter. In the letter she again reminds them of the BK case number, filing date and discharge date. She must say that their continued collection activities on a discharged debt is a violation of the permanent injunction of her discharge and if they do not immediately cease and desist ALL collection activity, she will file a Motion for Contempt and Request for Sanctions against them with the BK court. She could collect damages AND attorney's fees if it goes that far. If they do not stop, then she would be better off finding another BK attorney that can follow thru. The letters from the mortgage company will damn them in front of a BK judge.
