Earlier in the game I paid some on one debt and they really got aggressive. My aunt who is mentally handicapped loves to be the first to answer the phone and she'd talk about the weather and her 2nd cousin's next door neighbor's rash and all kinds of meaningless stuff, she doesn't work, rarely has someone to talk with and enjoyed the conversation as not too many people take the time to conversant with her. Occasionally they’d get rude with her but she’d keep right on trucking. Eventually the CA's realized that prying info from her wasn't fruitful and was burning up a great deal of their time so they quit calling all together.
minute call always leave them empty handed. Having noticed the success my aunt had towards running off CA’s I decided to use that on other as well. I recall one occasion on a $150 debt I talked till they hung up on me, I was so amazed they gave in so quickly that I actually called them back (they always take inbound calls) and I said “I’m sorry we must have got disconnected” and rambled on some more until the CA finally said “really we’re not even talking about that much money here . . .” and hung up again. Beat em at their own game, at least that is what worked for me.
