Letter from Attorney

Received a letter (regular mail)from an attorney, dated 6/1, postmarked 6/7 and received by me on 6/10 for a scheduled hearing on 6/14 - allot of notice.
They subject of hearing is Motion to Amend Summons and Complaint and the Motion for Summary Judgement. I am guessing that with the short notice, it is their hope I do not respond and/or show up and get what ever they want by default. This has already been to court once, case was dismissed - South Carolina SOL had already passed at that time. Just what is it they are attempting to do??
Not much time...need advice quick.
