Same thing happened to me. Out of 13 cards, one did give me a hardship program, but only for a couple of months. Don't know what the point of it was. Since you are judgement proof you probably won't hear from him again. My advice is always to ignore CAs. Money problems are stressful anyway, and if you can't pay, you can't pay. Since you are judgement proof, chances are very good that you will not be sued. It costs them money to sue you, filing fees, attorney fees. So, not likely they will go for a judgement if they won't be able to collect. There is a lot of psychology in debt collection, so I think sometimes they sue just to scare the consumer into making payment arrangements. I think a lot of consumers do just that. These CAs will bleed you dry if you let them. Just don't let them. The phone is their tool, take it away from them. If they can't threaten you, they will move onto easier targets. My strategy of ignoring CAs really worked well. I did get sued by one card in the end, so I had to file bk. Many people want to know what I gained since I was sued anyway. Two things, I protected assets early on (2 years out from when I was sued) and I did not allow the CAs to harass me, get me all stressed out. So, my bottom of the line is this. Hope for the best, but be prepared for the worst.
