Daughter just sent off a money order fro a perkins loan that was lost in the shuffle. Her circumstances were unusual, she really did not remember this loan. We validated, and she tried to find a way out of paying the CA, but nope. Didn't seem she could. She got in touch with the Dept of Ed (or whoever) and she actually paid to the US Dept of Edu. BUT, that included CA charges. We sent a money order to protect banking info because I just wasn't sure exactly where this money was actually going. Ounce of prevention. Fortunately, this was not a big loan. She's still paying college foundation.
