The rep at the CA AND the Office of the Omsbudsman
told me that since I was in default, I had to make
three payments before Dept of Ed would look at
accepting my consolidation. Since they won't deal
with me while the collection company still hold my
accounts, I would have to make those payments to
the CA. The amount I was told I had to pay was
figured at 2.25 of my total debt per month (by the
