they're basically saying they're asking the sherrif's department to
issue a summons & complaint if i don't respond. they left an 888 number to return the call but the call originated
on my caller ID from 716 area code ... which, evidently, is new
york, not california as i initially thought. regardless, i've never
lived there either. interesting facts is that this guy never says what state he is in
nor does he give a full name ... just 'mr weeks.' i've just now checked the orange county, ny site and tried to find
this 'case number' i was given (which is referred to as an index
number on the site) and there was no record of it ... i also
searched by MY name and there was no record of that, either. so it does seem a bit suspect. this information make it anymore obvious that this is a scam and
i should ignore it?
