Lenahan is apparently the same collector as The Law Center and Law Offices of Harry Cohn (Hairy Con). They contacted me this morning about my 4-yr-old Providian acct (in AZ) with the same line about "having a sherriff serve me with papers" and they gave me my Maricopa County Case # (real cute, its not even in the form as an actual Maricopa case number). I can't believe I actually panicked over this for the ten minutes I did; I normally assume these guys are all scam artists. This woman actually told me that I committed credit card fraud since I went deliquent within a certain amount of time, so they were going to press civil and criminal charges against me TOMORROW unless i paid them $4800 (more than twice the amount of the original debt) TODAY. so, so many violations.
