Your best bet is to IGNORE THEM. Bud Hibbs description tells the story. You can't believe anything they say. Lies and threats that they can not carry out are normal for the way these lowlifes do business.
Do yourself a favor, just ignore them. Do not apply for any credit. (that would be a way for them to get your current employer). Let sleeping dogs lie, let the SOL run. When was the last time you paid the original creditor before the account became deliquent.
