Exactly, they can do it and they DO do it. The assignees, in most states, have no standing in court to sue because they are not the OWNER's of the debt. There are a couple of states that allow assignees to sue. In those cases, like with Discover or Crap1, its actually the OC that is the plaintiff in those lawsuits, NOT the CA.

And yes - we ARE getting screwed from more than one angle !
