I was served a Statement of Claim a couple of days ago where Bank of America is suing me. Looking at the complaint there are several documents attached. One of them states this was filed in my county on March 29, 2004. Another document is dated February 18, 2004 stating IMPORTANT NOTICE. This document states that under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act requires that I be given certain information concernign this debt and their attempt to collect the debt. Amount of debt, creditor and states unless I notify them with 30 days of receipt of the notice that the validity of the debt is disputed, they will assume it is valid. I have never seen this document before and it is attached like it was mailed to me. Anyone know what this means?
