Stop right there. Call the courthouse and find out if there's been a complaint filed against you. The summons/complaint *should* have a file number and an official stamp of filing from the court. If it doesn't, it may be bogus. If it is legit, there's no way it would be mailed to the plaintiff attorney FIRST. It should be filed with the court and a copy of the *filed answer* should be sent to the plaintiff attorney.
