No you are not protected even though you defaulted in TX, dependant upon the state....even in the state of texas, they can place a lien against a house but only if you own two houses...you can only have one homestead property in tx...the other is free to place a lien....but in a different state what they would do is they would domesticate a foreign judgment and go after the assets in that state...I am a judgment recovery specialist... please do not take my opinion as legal advice.
