arbitration letter

I have recieved a letter of arbitration from the law offices of Wolpoff and Abramson regarding an MBNA account. I began working with United Debt Counseling 6 months ago in order to pay off the account. W&A recieved the paperwork and the cease and desist letter, and they did not call me for about 3 months. Then, out of the blue, they started calling again and said they had no record of my working with the debt counselors. They stopped calling and then, 1 1/2 months later, some guy shows up at my door and I'm served with this letter of arbitration. Can they do this? What do I do?
