Since they have initiated discovery, you can turn around and do the same, use discovery to make them cough up proof of their claims. You can refuse to provide what they're asking for, but they can turn around and file a Motion to Compel to produce documents. If you don't have what they want, say so. Discovery is a fishing expedition, you need your rod and reel with a hook just as big as the one they've tossed at you !
