Texas is a consumer friendly state, but it is also a community property state. You might have a problem if the debt was incurred during the marriage. Protect your banking info. Change banks now. If you could open an account with someone else as primary, (maybe a adult child) that would be good. They can not touch your homestead and they can not garnish wages in Texas, but they can go after your bank account.
