Midland admitted account was past sol when they bought it

I made the mistake of answering the phone a minute ago without looking at the caller ID. It was Mindy from Midland. After the day I have had-I should have hung up immediately. She started her little bs session by asking when i was making a payment. I told her that I did not understand so she goes into how Cross-Country "sent" the account to Midland for collections and that they really need their money. I told her that i was under the impression that Midland purchased the account once it was past SOL in the hopes of clearing a few bucks they weren't entitled to. Here is the good part-She stated that even though the account is past SOL I am still morally obligated to pay my debts. Do they not train these people any longer? I would give my left arm to have been able to tape that conversation!
