Right,

When these jackanapes claim they don't know the law, they are really setting up a defense. They are in the collections business, considered 'expert' in their field by the court. They violate the law as matter of practice, every minute of the day. So they claim ignorance of it in hope of avoiding court penalties.

You haven't really lived 'til you've heard brilliant Palm Beach County Barrister, the Honorable Hugh Brett Shafritz, Esq., 'lie' to judges when he phones in motion hearings. This guy will claim you can use the card during chargeoff period. He's actually trying to push SOL forward. He'll claim you never demanded validation and disputed the debt, when right in front of the judge is your CRRS letter, receipt signed by him, doing exactly that.

This guy will claim anything to the court. Of course, Shafritz doesn't show in court, so we can't look into his no doubt 'lying eyes'.

Judge's expression is priceless. You know he's thinking, 'why did I wear my nice, new, polished shoe, with all this bullshale on the floor?"

As far as 'prestige', have you noticed recently some of these wannabe lawyahs refer to themselves as 'nationally known collections attorneys', or 'prestigious collections attorneys'?

A former prominent banking attorney, who wrote bank law for state legislatures, expresses this quite nicely. To wit, "No lawyer willingly devolves to the level of collections attorney." This individual tells a story of an interview with a collection law firm. Interviewer described as a 'greasze-wig, shiny-suit type'. Told the job was his for the asking. After leaving interview, felt overwhelming need for a steam cleaning, both of body and clothes. The pits.

So much for their exalted reputation. Court clerks see the tortured souls these punks drag into court. They fool no one. Yeah, they make tons of money, but at what price?

Plus, the B.O. on those polyester leisure suits has real staying power, if you know what I mean. Right, Mr. Slimon? I digress.

Digressively,

Keyser Soze
