It doesn't matter what the divorce decree said, if you signed for the debt and he didn't pay it they can come after you. Then you have to sue him. Bad system, huh?

Send the the validation letter at this site. It will buy you 30 days. They cannot engage in any further collection activities until they answer the letter. Gulf States is famous for breaking the law, though so keep all your proof in case they try to ignore your letter.
