Gulf State Judgements???

My SOL for a debt charged off in 1996 will be up soon. Neither Discover Card or Gulf State Credit cared that my divorce papers state my ex-husband is completely liable for these debts. I am now getting many, many hang ups on my machine and messages from Gulf State threatening a Judgement for a debt that once was $1500.00 but with late fees and interest is now over $2500.00. I would like to know if they are just bullying me or if they actually file judgement.
