Well, I don't know where you got some of your 'suggestions' but a few of them are flat-out wrong - sorry.

"I send them money, if they return it in most states its considered paid off. Check with your laws first."

*** Absolutely INCORRECT. This just doesn't apply in any state that I know of. Restrictive endorsements and Accord and Satisfaction works in a FEW states, but that's not what's happening when they reject a payment.

And then I send them another payment here in New Mexico there isnt much they can do if you are not at least 30 days late from the last date they recieved a payment. "

*** Not true. If your previous payment was insufficient, then you are STILL delinqent and they CAN do 'things' at any time !

" They know not to contact my husband at work, since once again in allot of states its against the law to contact your work and harrass you. You can file harrassment charges against them in court"

*** Yes and no. FEDERAL law, the FDCPA, prevents them from calling you (or any 3rd party) at work IF you notify them that you are not allowed to take personal calls at work. If they violate that restrction, then you might have a case for FDCPA violations.
