One of my tireless (well up until now) collectors who has been bombarding me with threats EVERY DAY for 9 months called again today.
Normally 6 days out of the week they use a machine to call and 'scare' me. Once a week one of their chimps comes out of a booze-induced coma long enough to try a new spin on "The Call". Its mostly just rewording or adding some technique to make the 5,001st call sound more important than the 5,000th.
Today was the day and it was delicious. He started off with the usual noise and then when he went to read off my account number he started stumbling and then let out a long sigh and hung up the phone. Didnt even get out the first couple digits.
Maybe I should call him back and tell him it was a nice try and buy him a bus ticket to Atlantic City or something. I feel so sorry for him. I mean after all he did spend $25 to buy my $10,000 credit card debt.
