An unknown collection agency, that does not appear on my credit report recently tried to have me served with a lawsuit. I travel all the time, and only found out about it becuase I got a letter from a lawyer referencing the lawsuit in public records.

Can anyone tell me what happens to this Lawsuit since I was NOT served? Can they still proceed, or are they required to continue to try to serve me. I am thinking they might be trying to sue someone with a similar name as me, I am not sure. I don't feel compelled to investigate unless I am in danger of a legal problem.

Please help if you can.
