Experian was formerly known as TRW
Information Systems & Services, (or simply "TRW")
and was owned by aerospace manufacturer TRW. It changed hands
and names, and is now owned by retailer Great Universal Stores,
PLC, of Great Britain.
Of the three major credit bureaus,
Experian includes the most detailed information on the consumer-disclosure
versions of their reports, and actually sets most of it out in
plain english.
Experian also owns marketing database
company Metromail.
