Thanks for your reply! I settled with Alegis in Jan 0f 2001. The settlement was about $2000 less than she owed. The funny thing is the actual amount I think she charged was around $3000 the rest was interest and penelties. Heres the settlement letter Alegis sent her. Dear Mrs Moose Your creditor has authorized us to offer you a settlement on the above reference account. Upon clearance through the banking system of the settlement amount indicated below your account will be considered settled. Payment of the total settement amount must be received in our office no later than the close of business on the date indicated below. If payment is not received in our office in the indicated amount and within the time frame indicated, this offer will expire at that time. This offer represents a substantial saving over the actual amount owed on this account and is an opportunity for you to take care of this obligation at a greatly reduced cost. Payment due 01-25-2001

Well my check hit there bank on 01-25-2001 for the amount they indicated.
So no problem there. Ive kept just about all of the letters from creditors sense we settled with Alegis. This last CA has been the hard core one I would say. But seems to me that the settlement letter Alegis set us should be my savior sense I met their demand for settlement of the debt IMO. Oh forgot to say that Alegis did try and lose the check at the office but when they called me with that story of non payment back then. I told them I had sent it certified and that the United States Post Office claimed they had gotten that letter and check way before the 25th. Well gosh they found it later on someones desk LOL!!! Okay you going to have to help me. Whats a validation request?
