In the continuing saga of Asset Acceptance and their lawsuit against me for a post SOL credit card account...after filing a lawsuit for this old account that they likely can't get the originall singed agreement for from the bank, and after I filed my response (posted below on 8/5), guess what I got in the mail today?...in my mail box today was one of their boilerplate form letters offering me a 25% discount on the balance. Note that there is no mention of the lawsuit that they have filed and I responded to with the clerk of courts. Coincidence? I think not! Sounds like they know that they are hosed and are hoping that I'll do something stupid like reply to their letter or call them. Has anyone seen this tactic before, this far into a suit for CC past the SOL? FYI....their attorney is Mark Wiseman.
