I learned the hard way - pay it and then argue. Send the payment, along with a letter saying you dispute the amount and want a full statement of your account, including a payments you made, any your insurance company made, and any charges or interest that the doctor's office added. Keep it off your credit report for now, it's not worth it. Perhpas if your personal situation clears up some you can deal with it. Linda
