If you are absolutely certain that this debt is past the SOL,(a CAMCO specialty !) then do NOT talk to them on the phone, its pointless, all they do is LIE, LIE, LIE ! Send them a Cease and Desist letter and in it you state that they are never to contact you again about this debt as it is time-barred. WhyChat has a good letter of this type on his site. As you may have read here, CAMCO is apparently sneaky about possibly filing lawsuits in locations that are NOT your CURRENT address, but an old address, so be careful. IF it shows up on your credit report, they have ILLEGALLY re-aged the debt and you would need to file a complaint with the FTC, and dispute it with the CRA's. There is a consumer protection lawyer out there, David Swazak (sp?) who is looking for people who have been victims of illegal reaging of old debts, so watch your CR carefully. You might also consider joining those of us trying to get something going to expose these sleezy bast**ds with some heavy-duty media attention :)
