If they do take you to court, and get a default judgment, there is nothing of yours they can take, since you have nothing. They cannot file for garnishment on your pay, since you are not working.

If they call back, request that they only correspond with you by mail, as you friend doesn't like his/her phone tied up.They are required ,by law, to send you a letter within 5 days, with your right to dispute the account.

It is possible they will sue and get a default judgment,however, since any "settlement" now will just leave you in worse shape than before, and the balance will likely be sold to another collection agency, (after this much time, Citibank has already sold your account to GS services)I suggest you just stall them and see what they will do.Is this your only debt? If you have others, and don't get back to work soon, you may consider BK.
