CCCS is a mistake %99.99 of the time, yes, and your fiance is finding out exactly why. They will ruin your credit as badly as bankruptcy.

Your bad credit will NOT affect your STB husband's. Trying to get joint credit, with his as bad as yours, will be extremely difficult. If the last time you paid on anything was 6 or more years ago, then the SOL has run out and the bad entries will drop off your credit at 7 years. So, your credit will improve dramatically in a year or so, his will not. He needs to pull his credit report and find out how badly CCCS is ruining his credit.
