why chat follow up-re: oc put balance on, but shows sold

Why chat
Debt is past Sol.
Cr from 2 months ago shows: -account number
-transfer
-payment after charge off/collection
-no balance
-status as of xxxx-Sold to-scum collector I disputed that I never made payment after charge off. New Credit report was changed to read: -account number
-placed for collection
-status as of xxxx-collection account
-balance $4,700.00
-sold to-scum collector -the oc is the only one listed. i disputed in hopes of removal. they changed everything. How can they go from payment after charged off, sold with no balance, to, collecton account sold with a balance, legally? any advice?
