Authorized User / FICO Impact

I am currently an authorized user of 4 credit cards that my wife has. The balances are high in reference to her credit limit. I know that high balances have an impact on the score for the primary cardholder, but does it have an impact on authorized users? If so, if I remove myself as an authorized user will I have an immediate positive impact on my score?
