okay so there is some background to this story but basically it goes like this: 2 years ago i was living with my girlfriend of four years. the relationship was ending and she owed me hundreds of dollars in past utility and living expense bills. i was leaving town and parking at the airport and needed money to pay the parking fee at the airport. i asked her for some of the money she owed me and she said she had forgot to go to the bank, but gave me a blank check and told me to use that. i wrote out the check and in my stupidity signed her name on it. it was only for a total of $35. apparently the check bounced and in our breaking up she threated to turn me in for check forging even though she gave me permission to write it. i gave her $150 to cover the check and fees in an attempt to cover my ass. apparently she didn't put the money into the bank because 2 years have passed and i get an email from her saying there is a legal action pending in the county of denver against her for the check. i'm afraid she is going to file a law suit against me in an attempt to avoid penalties. is this a valid concern? should i talk with a lawer? am i liable evn though she gave me permission? is the amount on the check so small that it doesn't matter?

any info would be greatly appriciated!
