I don't think a validation will do you any good at this point.

You need to file an answer.
There is a link on my website, how to answer a lawsuit.

However, you have a few problems,the SOL for credit cards in RI is the longest in the Country- 10 year. You were out of State for a portion of that time, so you might be subject to "tolling" i.e. a suspension of the time you were out of State.
And, you have no records.

On the positive side, you MAY not be subject to the 10 year SOL if this was a "store" account.And, the CA lawyer who is suing you may have no more records than you do to prove the status or legitimacy of the account.
