I need to make improvements on my home, and also want to pay off my credit cards. The value of my house has more than doubled and I have paid the principal down. My required payments are quite small. Would it be sensible to take a line of credit from my mortgage company where I have a history? Or are Lines of credit a scam? Thanks.
