I have a HH acct. also. Mine was also charged off without warning and I am dealing with ASG (Account Solutions Group) out of NY and they offered me a settlement ($1,100) and I am on payment 2 to pay it off. I am going to have it removed from my report after payoff. I am surprised they will not work with you...another thing...you chose not to pay this acct. and after 3 months ANY acct will be charged off so you did it to yourself. They didn't ruin your credit, you did like I did mine. Don't blame the creditor for ruining your life when you decide not to pay anymore. I stopped doing that long ago and I am cleaning up the mess I made and hopefully I will be able to buy a house some day. You can't make excuses when you get the money, use it, and then don't pay it back. We are all at fault and life is all about choices and you need to be adult and deal with your choices and their effects.
