Law firm/ Sherman Acq. /CC debt./Providian

Hi, I am in search of some advice. Today I recieved a call from someone claiming to be from Boudreau and Associates (a law firm)on behalf of Sherman Aquisitions.
He said he was calling about a debt from a Providian Credit card that was sold several times and now is with Sherman Aquisitions.
He said I needed to settle this with them or make some type of arrangements to avoid legal action.
I have to my knowledge that i can rememeber never recieved anything from this Sherman Acq. And This Boudreau and Associates is in New Hampshire. I have no idea what to do, I do not have money to settle in a lump sum.
Do I try to find this Sherman Acq. and contact them? Any advice would be appreciated.
