Heading to court / Looking for a dismissal

I'am being sued by asset acceptance for a debt that is SOL, I filed my answer as being SOL.But need some information about having the case dismissed, do I ask the judge after I explain my case or file a motion to have the case dismissed, I have been given a court date for next month, but just wanted to make sure I cover all my bases. Plus the only documentation I recieved was a computer print out, is it likely for asset acceptance to bring more proof of debt or do thay have to be submitted before trial.
