I had a credit card through Fleet and used it for a business. The business went belly up and I was unable to pay off the credit card with the liquidation sale. The credit card was in my personal name. I have not paid on the debt since roughly 08/02. About 4 months ago, I started receiving calls and letters from Bronson and Migliaccio. They state that Fleet sold the debt to CACV of Colorado and they are now trying to collect the debt. Of course, in the mean time, destroying my credit.
I am at a loss of what to do or how to handle it. Should I pay? Should I not pay? Should I offer to settle? How much should I offer? Are they going to sue me? Is this going to hang over my head for the rest of my life? Anybody that can help, PLEASE!!!!!
